Principles of Metal Manufacturing Processes
This book is primarily intended for undergraduate students enrolled in mechanical, manufacturing, materials/ metallurgy or industrial engineering programmes. Several books dealing with the subject of metal manufacturing processes are already available - so why this book? The justification is the absence of an introductory quantitative, rather than a primarily descriptive, book on this topic, suitable for undergraduate students.

ENGINEERING METALLURGY Part 1 (PROJECT TRANSLATE 1)
APPLIED PHYSICAL METALLURGY by RAYMOND A. HIGGINS
This text-book constitutes Part I of 'Engineering Metallurgy' and is intended primarily for students taking metallurgy as an examination subject for a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical or Production Engineering. The author hopes that it may also prove useful to undergraduates studying metallurgy as an ancillary subject in an Engineering Degree course. To students for whom metallurgy is a principal subject the book can offer a helpful approach to certain sections of the work in preparation for the Higher National Certificate and the City and Guilds Final Certificates in Metallurgy.
Elements of Metallurgy and Engineering Alloys
This publication is intended for use by persons having technical skill, at their sole discretion and risk. Since the conditions of product or material use are outside of ASM's control, ASM assumes no liability or obligation in connection with any use of this information. As with any material, evaluation of the material under end-use conditions prior to specification is essential. Therefore, specific testing under actual conditions is recommended.
Steels: Metallurgy and Applications
by D.T. LleweUyn and R.C. Hudd.
The third edition of this book represents a significant change from the previous editions in that the chapter on Low carbon strip steels has been completely rewritten and expanded very considerably. This has been achieved through the input of Roger Hudd, who has had a long and distinguished career with British
Steel in the strip steels sector, and I am delighted that he has agreed to be a co-author for this latest edition. Previous editions also contained a brief chapter entitled Technological trends in the steelmaking industry which dealt with steel production aspects.
FUNDAMENTALS OF MODERN MANUFACTURING
Materials,Processes,andSystems
Fundamentals of Modern Manufacturing: Materials, Processes, and Systems is designed for a first course or two-course sequence in manufacturing at the junior level in mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering curricula. Given its coverage of engineering materials, it is also suitable for materials science and engineering courses that emphasize materials processing. Finally, it may be appropriate for technology
programs related to the preceding engineering disciplines. Most of the book’s content is concerned with manufacturing processes (about 65% of the text), but it also provides significant coverage of engineering materials and production systems. Materials, processes, and systems are the basic building blocks of modern manufacturing and the three broad subject areas covered in the book.
MATERIALS AND PROCESSES IN MANUFACTURING
First, manufacturing has become a global activity with U.S. companies sending work to other countries (China, Taiwan, Mexico) to take advantage of low-cost labor, while many foreign companies are building plants in the United States, to be nearer their marketplace, The automobile manufacturers and their suppliers use just about every process described in this book and some that we do not describe, often because they are closely held secrets.
Second, many manufacturing companies are redesigning their factories (their manufacturing systems) becoming lean producers. and learning how to make goods better (higher quality), cheaper, faster in a flexible way (i.e., they are more responsive to the customers).
